BE PREPARED
At all times, we highly recommend that everyone be prepared for unplanned water outages. Store at least 5-8 Gallons of water per person per house hold for shortage emergencies. Take into account your needs for drinking, personal hygiene and for cooking. Also you should store non-potable water for toilets, washing dishes and other water needs. Please remember that most water outages are due to a break in the system or from power outages that cause the pumps to stop working. Once advised of the outage, the repair process commences. However this does not mean that the repair will take place immediately as the appropriate personnel may not be available. It takes the efforts of the board members, community volunteers and contractors to restore running water.
While you are at it, this is also a good time to make a plan for future Home Power Outages. You might want to include flashlights and batteries, a battery operated radio, candles or other battery operated lights, matches, First Aid Kit and other necessities one may need during a Power Outage.
